Larry Michael Mellema

Larry Michael Mellema, of Westminster, MD passed away on October 24, 2026 at 67 years old. 

He was born October 22nd, 1959 in Gettysburg, PA and grew up in Union Mills, MD. He was the son of the late George Henry Mellema and Evelyn Marie Leppo Mellema Myers. 

Larry graduated with a diploma. He married in September 1981 and resided in Taneytown, MD. They had a child in 1986, and eventually moved to Chambersburg, PA. Larry and his Father-In-Law became great friends, and both enjoyed the outdoors and taking long mountain rides. He helped around the farm, and had many fun times at family gatherings. 

Larry did landscaping with Green Arbor in Waynesboro, PA for many years. He was a handy man and also did roofing, help raise barns, and even painted Dragon boats at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD. 

He was a free spirit, and followed the party of life wherever it took him. After his divorce, he traveled and lived with many friends and family over the years. Larry had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having a good time. 

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by an infant sister Tammy Frances Mellema and several close friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. Mellema and her life partner David Keyser. His two sisters, Susan E. and husband Garld Ibex, and Trudy L. and Husband Jeff Eckenrode. He also had numerous niece and nephews, Daniel, Rose, and Garld Jr.
