Lois Anne Poole

On July 8, 2026, Lois Ann Poole passed away in Westminster, MD. Born near Uniontown, MD on January 6, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Truman W. Hamburg, Jr. and Lorraine May Hamburg. On December 23, 1961, she married the love of her life of Charles Poole. 

After graduating high school, she went to work for Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown for 11 years. She met Charles while working there and they married just 6 weeks after meeting. Later, Lois and Charles went to work for Stanley Black and Decker. She had a wonderful career there for 24 years. After Black and Decker, she went to work for Miller's Market in Manchester. She loved interacting with all of the customers, especially with the children. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church for many years and was also a member of the Mid Maryland Ford Club and Chesapeake Region AACA. Lois and Charles were always together. They delivered newspapers in the area for a time and when Charles started his lawn care business Lois was often seen on the lawn mower helping him. She was always interested in cars, maroon being her favorite color car. She and Charles enjoyed showing their antique cars at many shows.

She is survived by her nieces Jayne Marie Hamburg and Elaine Hamburg Stromberg. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her brother Truman "Sonny" W. Hamburg, Jr.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 91 Willis Street (21157) for visitation from 11am-1pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 1pm.
