Margaret Louise Wetzel, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. Born January 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Z. and Inez LaRue (Angell) Fair.
Margaret was of many talents and interests. She found joy in baking cakes, arranging flowers with driftwood, and weaving baskets. Her love for nature was also evident in her enthusiasm for mowing the grass and splitting wood. Margaret maintained a busy lifestyle, continually seeking to engage in meaningful activities that reflected her industrious spirit. She loved and was very devoted to her family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Tina Clingan, and her cherished granddaughters, Lori Evans and Amanda Walker and her husband, Chris; her grandchildren, Malaya Hooks and her husband Isaiah, Sophia Badiang, and Aleyzia Walker; siblings, Wilma Liller and Wanda Lawrence.
Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, Richard Charles Wetzel, who passed away in 1987. Margaret was also preceded in death by her siblings Cecelia, June, Janet, Doris, Lois, Harold "Bootie," Wayne "Reds," and Wilbur Jr. "Whitie."
A memorial service to honor Margaret's life will take place on January 10, 2026, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown, Maryland, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment of her urn will follow the service at the church cemetery.
