Mark Stephen Beno, age 60, of Taneytown, MD, died Friday, March 17, 2023 at home. Born October 29, 1962, in Milwaukee WI, he was the son of the late Stephen Joseph Beno Jr. and Joyce Elaine (Niederfler). He was the husband of Jimalee Beno (Dakin), his wife of 15 years.
Mark enjoyed projects on the farm, travel, entertaining family and friends, outdoor activities, scuba diving, Bocci ball and golf. He was one of the most caring and giving individuals you will ever meet. He loved cooking, and if you know Mark you have probably had his lasagna. He befriended everyone and always had a story or joke to tell. If the story included a place, he would also draw you a map.
The love Mark gave Jimalee was rare. He carved pumpkin’s declaring his love, carved strawberries into roses to celebrate anniversaries, sent flowers with no reason and told everyone how much he loved his wife. When they met, he told his father that she was the one and he was so happy that his smile was big enough that he could whisper in both ears.
Mark could not have been prouder of his son, Brad, for the accomplishments he has made, the husband that he is, and the man he has become. Whether it was spending time around a bonfire with their favorite spirits, shooting pool at the pub, sharing pictures of the projects they were working on, or just chatting about life, Mark and Brad had an inseparable bond that would last a lifetime and beyond. He will truly be missed by Brad, but Mark's legacy will live on in him with the countless shared interests, unconditional love for friends and family, bad corny jokes, and devilish good looks.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Bradley Beno and wife Alyssa of Sun Prairie WI; stepsons, Fred Dakin and wife Ashley of Milwaukee WI, and Kevin Dakin of Baltimore, MD; sisters, Lynda Beno-Bickel and husband Jeff (deceased) of Hubertus, WI, Luanne Seaman and husband Dave of Lake Mills, WI and Laura Grigg and fiancé Brian Becker of Sussex, WI; numerous nieces and nephews: Stephanie Mateo and husband Ismael of Milwaukee, WI and their children Joslyn Mateo and daughter Harper Love, Jaylee Mateo and Julien Mateo.
