Norma Elizabeth Clarkson

Norma Elizabeth Clarkson, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 19, 2026 at Ecompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York, PA. Born on March 13, 1944 in Chestnut Ridge, Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Douglas O. Ward and Christina Hoffman Ward. Norma was the loving wife of Nowell Clarkson for 62 wonderful years.

She was a member of Taneytown Baptist Church, and Genealogy Society, and grew up as a 4-H member.

In addition to Nowell, she is survived by her sons Arlin and his wife Helen, and Andrew and his wife Emily; her grandchildren Benjamin Clarkson and Jenna Clarkson; and great grandchildren Alaia Rose and Ivy Hope; her brothers Douglas Ward and his wife Bobbie of Westminster and James Ward and his wife Mary of Colorado. She is also survived by many numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Thursday September 24, 2026 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A. 136 E. Baltimore Street Taneytown (21787) from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Visitation will also be held on Friday September 25, 2026 at 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. Reverend Jared M. Pankhurst will be officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Silver Run Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to Taneytown Baptist Church: 4150 Sells Mill Road Taneytown, MD 21787.
