Richard Russell Stiles

Richard Russell Stiles, 73, of Finksburg passed away January 30,2026 at Country Acres Assisted Living in Westminster, MD.

Born Aprill 22, 1952 in New York, he was the son of the late Herbert Stiles and the late Dorothy Russell Stiles.  He was the husband of J. Allison Stiles together 45 years, married on May 10,1980.

He was a 1970 Graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Chevy Chase, MD., and was a 1974 Graduate of The University of Maryland, College Park.  He was a software engineer for UPS in Timonium, MD for 25 years and loved technical work.  He enjoyed the outdoors with camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and was a caver during his days in college with the Maryland Trail Club.  He loved to travel to many National Parks and loved the mountains.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Rich and Allison were active in the Stephen Ministry Program at Grace Lutheran starting in 2004.  

He is survived by son Greg Stiles of Richmond, VA, son Eric Stiles of Westminster, MD, daughter Laura Allen and husband Josh Gozelanczyk of Hampstead, MD; grandchildren Karsten Stiles, Nora Grace Stiles, Oskar Gozelanczyk and Jakob Gozelanczyk, sister Anne Williams, sister-in-law Linda Gadow, brother-in-law Rob Miller and wife Cheryl, along with a nephew and nieces.

There will be a Celebration of his Life and Memorial at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 WILLIS STREET, WESTMINSTER MD 21157 with Pastor Kevin Syes officiating on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 4pm.  Family will receive friends at 3:00pm prior to the memorial at the Funeral Home.  Memorial will begin promptly at 4pm.
