Robert Gerald "Bob" Levering, Sr.

Robert Gerald “Bob” Levering, Sr., born September 24, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown, Maryland. A devoted father, husband, and family man, Robert lived a life marked by hard work, service, and deep love for those around him.

Robert held many roles throughout his life—working as a cook, serving as a Baltimore County firefighter, and later becoming a dedicated dairy farmer. His work ethic and commitment to helping others were evident in every chapter of his life. He was a longtime member of Grace Rocky Hill Church in Woodsboro, where he found community and faith.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Levering; his mother, Francis Poole; his father, Fred Levering; his son-in-law, Thomas Ford; and his grandson, Jordan Seitler.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janet Levering; his children, Robert G. Levering Jr. and his wife Kathy, Laura L. Ford, Todd A. Levering and his wife Karan, and Heather D. Levering; and his stepchildren, John “Andy” Hood and his wife Bev, Laura Seitler and her husband Brad, and Debra Medcalf and her husband Todd.

He was a proud grandfather to Sean Ford, Zachary Ford, Andrew Ford, Kevin Ford, Ryan Levering, Leah Reeves, Geoffrey Levering, Chandler Levering, Morganne Mitchell, Kelley Medcalf, Cassandra Medcalf, Tyler Hood, Corey Hood, Britni Hood, Tyler Seitler, Sarah Meckley and Nick Seitler and a loving great‑grandfather to Arlo Ford, Miles Levering, Bowen Ford, Gryffin Levering, Aubrey Levering, Brooks Mitchell, Finley Hubbard, Felicity Hubbard, Lainey Hood, Brinley Hood, Karlie Hood, Katie Seitler, Joshua Seitler, Penny Seitler, Benjamin Seitler, Aiden Seitler, Alec Seitler, Savannah Meckley, Sophie Meckley, Isaiah Meckley.

Robert is also survived by his sister, Shirley Piazza, and her husband, John.

Above all, Robert will be remembered as a devoted father who loved his family deeply. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the generations who follow.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026 and 10 to 11a.m., Friday, May 15, 2026 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, (21787) where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
