Robert John Ryan

Robert John Ryan passed away peacefully at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center on January 17, 2026 at the age of 86.  He was the son of the late Joseph Edward Ryan Sr. and Alverta Catherine (Speranzella).  He graduated from Polytechnic High School.  He served in the Air National Guard and the Reserve of the United States Air force with an Honorable Discharge in 1960.  

He worked at Vansant Dugdale Advertising Agency for over 20 years.  Taught children with special needs for several years until leaving that position to work for Verizon where he retired from.  He volunteered for many Church Organizations through the years.  His last and one of his favorite volunteering jobs was the National Aquarium in Baltimore.  

He is survived by 4 siblings.  Joseph Ryan Jr. (Lois), Patricia Maiste (Juri), Thomas Ryan Sr. (Charlotte) and Michael Ryan (Vicki). Also survived by 44 nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, and great great nephew and niece.  Predeceased by his sister Mary and her husband Jim, nephew Thomas Ryan and his wife Melanie.

Per his wishes there will not be a public viewing.  His cremains will be inurned in the family plot at New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore at the family's convenience.
