Sheena Marie Holsey Glasco, a resident of Taneytown, Maryland, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, after battling a long illness. She was born on January 18, 1983, to the late Phillip Eugene Holsey and Vera Lynn Brooks in Westminster, Maryland.
Sheena was educated in Carroll County Public Schools and graduated from Liberty High School. Later in life she attended a local culinary school in order to broaden her knowledge of catering and food preparation.
Sheena was the proud mother of Imahnee, Kordell, Kendall and Isaiah. Unfortunately, her heart was broken when her youngest son Isaiah passed away at 3 months of age in 2004. Despite her grief, Sheena displayed unwavering resilience. With the help of her devoted mother Vera, she successfully navigated the challenges of single parenthood. Her children were her delight and greatest achievement.
Sheena enjoyed listening to R&B music, bowling, playing board games, visiting local casinos, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. Stargazing in the middle of the night with her children was a delightful experience for all. She also enjoyed cooking. Putting the skills learned in culinary school, she and her daughter Imahnee worked together in their own catering business until illness made it impossible to continue in this endeavor.
Sheena is survived by her three children: Imahnee McCloud, Kordell Glasco and Kendall Glasco; mother Vera Brooks; maternal grandmother Florence H. Williams; godparents Aunt Mary, Riggins Mike Magruder, Velma Green; uncles Ronald Brooks (Kathie), Austin Howard and Anthony Williams (Dionne), Gordon Brown (Nora), Kenneth Brown (Maria) and Mehrl Brown (Patricia); aunts Evelyn Williams, Anna Green (Marshall), Victoria Holsey, Marjorie Brown and Sabrina Brown and a hosts of cousins and other relatives.
In addition to her father Phillip and her son Isaiah, Sheena was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Richard H. Williams; godfather Marshall Green Sr.; paternal grandmother Betty Jane Brown; uncles Leroy Brooks and Roger Brown, Jr. (Jeanne); aunts Sharon Thomas and Phyllis Jean Price and her beloved cousins Shondre’ Brown and Dutchess Riggins.
