The sweet soul of Stanley Leo Weimer was called home on Sept. 10, 2024. Stanley was the oldest of eight children born to Stanley E. Weimer and Helen Hoye Weimer on June 7,1925 in Nikep, MD. Elizabeth Rose Aldridge became his young bride on Oct. 2, 1947. Together they raised eight children. He was 22 days shy of 77 years of marriage. He set the bar high for all of us. His goal was to live to be 100. The Lord had other plans for him. Stanley was a dairy farmer for over 65 years. He made it a priority to serve the church and his community. He always found time to nurture and guide his children throughout all their 4-H and FFA endeavors. His strong work ethics were instilled in them. One of his favorite sayings was “Hard work will never kill anyone”. Stanley worked at Mount St. Mary's College delivering packages to everyone on the campus. He touched many lives along the way. He retired from there after working ten years. Stanley was a gifted storyteller who made friends wherever he went. His favorite topic was telling all he could about his large family. Stanley maintained his sense of humor even into his final days. He was known as “Stan the Man” to all his fellow patients at the Gettysburg Center. Happiness was defined by him when he had all of his children gathered for a family celebration. That was his greatest joy! Besides his wife, Rose, he is survived by two siblings: Thomas Weimer and Helen Miller. His children, Rebecca Kerr and Joseph; John Weimer and Donna; Sharon Gentile; Susan Trice; Michael and Cindy Weimer; Naomi Knight and George; and Jennifer Gabel and Rob. He was blessed to have thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Stanley is predeceased by his son, Thomas Weimer and two grandchildren, Rachel and Leah Weimer.
