Stephen D. Stoner

Stephen D. Stoner, passed away on June 4, 2026, in his hometown of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Born on July 4, 1959, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Patrick Allen Stoner and Laura L. Tenney, nee Clabaugh. Stephen married the late Jane M. Stoner in 1990, and together they shared 32 wonderful years.

Stephen dedicated many years to his career as a meat cutter at Shrivers Meats in Emmitsburg, Maryland. His skill and dedication to his craft made him a respected figure in his workplace and among the customers who valued his expertise and warm spirit. He was known for his calm demeanor and hard-working nature.

Outside of work, Stephen was a man of simple joys. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his dogs. He was a devoted reader and had a particular fondness for the works of Stephen King novels. 

Surviving are children, Brandy M. Stely and Nicholas Zeke Stoner; grandchildren, Sia Stely and Savanna Stely; siblings, Kathy Cashman, Mick Stoner (Bonnie), and Donnie Stoner (Barb).

The family will receive friends July 10, 2026, 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 210 W Main St, Emmitsburg, MD 21727, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.

Stephen was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
