Steven Lee Smith

Steven Lee Smith, 50, of Eldersburg, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Friday, August 28, 2026. Born Friday, July 23, 1976 in Mobile, Alabama, he was the beloved husband of his wife Janice Lyn Smith, nee Goldsholl, of 10 years, whom he married Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Loving and proud father of two daughters, Melina Rae and Madelyn Elyse Smith; devoted brother-in-law of Christine Lowe and her husband Len, and Paul Goldsholl and his wife Christina; most cherished uncle of Jacob, Kyle and his wife Mikayla, Matthew, Trent, Bryson, Gianna, and Beckett; and son-in-law of Paul Goldsholl and his wife Susan. He was predeceased by Nanny, Helen Givens and his cousin Steven Ray Givens.

Steve was an adventurous soul who made friends very easy and found his journey through life to be harmonious. Upon his graduation, his adventure began when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a military police officer and this service lead into his civilian career in law enforcement. He most loved being a CDL commercial truck driver. Never one to shy away from a good time, he adored his wife and daughters, and spending time outside with friends and family. Steve was quite the connoisseur of fine liquid and enjoyed a good Old Fashion. He was a man of many hobbies most notably Scuba Diving and most recent remote-controlled cars. To know Steve was to love him, and he was never seen without his infectious smile.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of Steve’s life, 2 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the 1623 Brewing Company, 5975 Exchange Drive, Eldersburg (21784).
