Theodore Keadle "Ted" Wise

Theodore Keadle Wise, "Ted", was born August 29, 1938, in Boonsboro, Maryland. Ted was the oldest son of the late Paul Theodore Wise and Mildred Wise, nee Keadle. One of two children, Ted was an athletic, energetic and extremely hard-working man until he fell seriously ill approximately 10 years ago. Ted took great pride in his work and in his family. Ted was a supervisor for Monotype Composition located in Baltimore City, Maryland and worked there for 40+ years until he retired in 1998. After retiring, Ted and his wife Irene Wise, nee Thomas, enjoyed going on cruises with friends and family. Some of the cruises include Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, South America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Ted met his wife, Irene, while he was stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland and they were married for 55 years until Irene passed away in January 2023.

Ted loved reading and visiting Revolutionary and Civil War battle sites. He also enjoyed horse racing and was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. He coached his son's little league baseball team and loved to hit fly balls to his kids in the backyard. He loved to watch baseball, football, and horse races. He also loved to go to rock concerts, play card games, Scrabble and Mexican dominoes. His favorite rock bands were Three Dog Night and Steppenwolf. An avid reader, he also enjoyed reading novels by John Grisham, James Patterson and Scott Turow. As a past time, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and word searches.

Ted was predeceased by his wife and son Jeffery Wayne Neal, from his wife's previous marriage. He leaves behind his brother Daryl Wise and sister-in-law Bonnie Wise, nee Reid, of Boonsboro, Maryland. Three sons Russell Thomas Neal, Sr., Randall Dean Neal, Kevin Douglas Wise and two daughters Roxanne Triva Ryder and Theresa Lynn Marshall. Ted also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md, Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 am. Entombment will follow the at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike in Finksburg, Md.
