Thomas James Legg

Thomas James Legg, age 75 died at Gettysburg hospital September 15, 2026. Born on August 16,1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Eugene and Florence Legg, Thomas graduated from Francis Scott Key High School then attended Calhoon M.E.B.A. Engineering School. He earned an AA degree in forest technology from Pennsylvania State University and a BA in computer and information systems from Shepherd University. He worked for Moore’s Business Forms as a technical support specialist and Teledyne Landis Machine as an information services manager. Most of his career he worked as a cybersecurity analyst in various roles as a contractor for the Federal Government.

He had an interest in British cars and worked on his own MGB. He had extensive knowledge in many things particularly trees, and enjoyed hiking and reading. He built his own home. He traveled worldwide with his work. Family and friends always came first. He attended the Union Bridge church of the Brethren. Those who knew him will remember his intelligence, his wonderfully sarcastic wit and the unmistakable humor he brought to everyday life.

He is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Marjorie Stutzman Legg; his daughters, Marie Elaine Boyle (Adam Boyle) and Valarie Legg (Richard Wilson); his grandchildren, Gabriel Munoz, Chase and Collins Boyle; his brothers, Eugene Legg (Deb Legg), John Legg (Alkmini Legg); his sisters, Priscilla Jones (Capt. James Jones), Cathy Mitchell (George Mitchell); brother in law David Stutzman (Linda Stutzman); sister in laws Lois McChrystal (Dave McChrystal), Mary Green (Arthur Green); along with nieces and nephews.

Visitation with be at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home 136 E Baltimore St Taneytown, MD, October 9 from 4-7 PM. A memorial service on Saturday October 10 at 2 PM at the Union Bridge Church of the Brethren 124 S Main St, Union Bridge, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Union Bridge Church of the Brethren or Brethren Disaster Ministries.
