Truman Barnes, age 81, of Westminster, died Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Copper Ridge Assisted Living, Sykesville. Born August 7, 1943, he was the son of the late Howard and Ethel (Richter) Barnes.
Truman was a hardworking man; he worked as a farm hand on horse and dairy farms for most of his working life. Later he worked at Denny’s restaurant as a dishwasher. He always had a winning strike when it came to playing the lottery, he was a longtime member of the “Wood Choppers” Bowling league at Thunder Head Bowling Alley in Taneytown.
He was survived by his brother, Robert “Bob” Barnes, Sr., and over 50 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Nellie Stitely, Elsie Black and Emma Thomas, brothers Howard, Jr., David, Jake Barnes.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Myers-Durboraw 91, Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21757.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Friday, January 24th at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
