Winnie Moore passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on May 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love, devotion, and selflessness.
Born on November 18, 1942, Winnie, a devout Catholic, attended Saint Hubert's High School and later continued her education at Saint Joseph's University. Life would soon lead her to the love story that defined so much of her journey. Winnie met the love of her life, Edward Moore, on a blind date that began right at her front door. From that moment forward, they built a beautiful life together rooted in faith, family, and unconditional love.
Together, Winnie and Edward raised three children and later welcomed six beloved grandchildren who became the center of their world and the greatest joys of Winnie’s life.
Winnie devoted herself entirely to those she loved. She was a selfless mother, grandmother, wife, and caregiver whose kindness knew no limits. In addition to lovingly raising her family, she faithfully cared for her cherished siblings, Kenny and Lisa, always placing the needs of others before her own.
Professionally, Winnie was known for both her elegance and dedication. She enjoyed a distinguished career in retail and fashion, serving as a charismatic sales representative at Macy’s for 25 years, following earlier years at Hecht’s and Woodward & Lothrop. She had a natural gift for style and grace and was admired by colleagues and customers alike.
Winnie was known for her timeless beauty and impeccable presentation. She would never be found without her hair perfectly done and her signature red lipstick—a reflection of the elegance and confidence she carried throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Winifred Hughes, her brother, Chris Hughes, and her nephew, Marty Hughes.
Winnie is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate, Edward Moore; her children, Edward Moore (Dawn), Winifred Owens (Andre), and Robert Moore; and her treasured grandchildren, Jasmine, Andre, Aidan, Shane, Devin, and Liam, each of whom brought immeasurable pride and happiness to her life.
She is also survived by her siblings, James Hughes , Kenny Hughes , and Lisa Hughes.
Winnie’s life was a beautiful example of devotion, grace, and unconditional love. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
