Anna Grace (Woodyard) Smith
Obituary
Anna Grace Smith, 83, of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born November 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Mamie Thelma Woodyard. She was the wife of the late Charles Leroy Smith.
She was graduated from Robert Moton in 1956. Anna received her nursing degree in 1987 from Spring Field Hospital. She retired from the State of Maryland after 30 years of service. Anna, or Sookie as she was also known, loved to shop. She was an avid customer of The Home Shopping Network and QVC.
She is survived by her children, Karen Smith, Teresa Smith, Tonya Smith (Roy Sipes), Scott Smith (Stacey), Todd Smith (Christy); sisters, Leona Jefferson, Barbara Moals, Paulette Johnson and Kristen Pettaway. Brothers, Edgar, Curtis, Kirdell, and Bruce Woodyard; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings, David, James and Marlowe Woodyard, sisters Verla Woodyard, Ernestine Morris; and grandson Reginald Sewell.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm om Tuesday March 14, 2023, at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A funeral service will begin at 11 am, Wednesday March 15, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Jamie Green officiating. A burial service will be private at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
