Brenda Lee (Shipley) Reese

        Brenda Lee Reese, 78, of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at UPMC Hanover Hospital.

        Born January 15, 1943 in Taylorsville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Virginia Hilda (Lindsey) Shipley. 

        Brenda worked for many years as a bar tender at the Hanover, PA V.F.W.  She loved spending time with her pet dog, “Abby”.  She enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching Westerns, and was an avid reader.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

        Surviving are sons, Eric Derr of PA and Aaron Derr of Westminster; daughter, Elena Reese of Westminster; grandchildren, Travis, Ashley, Brittany, Kristen, Joseph, Lance Jr., Sean and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Braden, McKenzie, Blake, Lance III, Kayelynn, Rylee, Chase, Bentley, Lily, Jameson, Mason, Gavin, Ensley and Hudson.

        She was predeceased by sons, Lance Sr. and Sean Reese and Douglas Derr; brother, Larry Shipley; and former spouse, William “Doc” Reese, Jr.

        A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster with funeral celebrant John C. Morrill officiating. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
