Charles B. Miller

     Charles B. Miller, 88, of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his home at Lookabout Manor on Monday, June 27, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Born May 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Raymond Miller and Mary Ruth Buxton. Charles was married to his beloved wife Barbara for 65 years.

     Charles was a letter carrier in Westminster for 27 years. He was a life member of the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company, serving for almost 55 years. He was president of the fire company in 1982 when the new fire station broke ground and was instrumental during the construction phase, spending his time off helping build the building.  Charles also was a member of the Harney Volunteer Fire Company for more than 25 years. He was inducted into the Carroll County Firefighters Hall of Fame in 1991. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family.

     In addition to his wife Barbara, Charles is survived by a son, Brian C.H. Miller and wife Donna of Taneytown; grandchildren, Brian, Jr. and wife Trisha of Littlestown, Dylon and wife Rachel of Taneytown; a great grandson Silas; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Raymond and Mary, Charles was predeceased by his brothers, James, John and Paul, and his sisters, Margaret, Mary, Helen and Anna

     A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Harney Volunteer Fire Company, 5130 Harney Rd, Taneytown, MD 21787.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Harney Volunteer Fire Company, 5130 Harney Rd, Taneytown, MD 21787 or Piney Creek Presbyterian Church, P.O.
