Emory Thomas Mingee, Sr.

     Emory Thomas Mingee, Sr. age 81, of Littlestown, PA, died on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Gettysburg Hospital. Born April 17, 1942, in St. Paul, Virginia, he was the son of the late Nathaniel and Hattie (Worley) Mingee. He was a devoted partner to Vera Ridinger.

     Emory worked for EVAPCO as a Plant Manufacturing Engineer for 29 years. He enjoyed golfing, softball, hunting and fishing. He loved bluegrass music and “pickin his guitar”. Watching the Orioles, Ravens and Westerns were some of his favorite past times. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren at their sporting events.

     Surviving are his partner, Vera Ridinger of Littlestown; sons, Emory Mingee, Jr. of Sykesville, Dustin Mingee and wife Kelli of Littlestown, Julee Mingee of Eldersburg, and Chrystal Cromwell and husband Clint of Gettysburg; grandchildren, Miranda, Tyler, Jaden, Brayden, Cameron and Max; great-grandson, Silas. He was predeceased by his parents, Nathaniel and Hattie; brothers, Ralph and Louis Mingee; sisters, Mary Bell, Ruth “Kitty” McCoy, Martha Jones and Irene Hoffman.       

     The family will receive friends at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown MD 21787, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 11am. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
