Ernest "Ted" Theodore Hill, Jr.

          Ernest “Ted” Theodore Hill, Jr., 84, resident of Westminster, Maryland died on Monday, January 4, 2021 at his home.

          Born May 8, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland he was the son of the late Ernest Theodore Hill, Sr. and Helen Mary (Carroll) Hill.  For the past eleven years, Ted had been the loving and devoted partner of Gail Martensen of Eldersburg, Maryland until her passing in September, 2020.  Ted wrote for her memorial upon her passing “I will leave this World with her still holding my hand”. 

          Ted grew up in Baltimore along with his twin brother Carroll, attending Towson High School and graduating in 1954.  He spent the next few years in the U.S. Army reserves, and worked alongside his father in the family hardware business, Hillendale Paint and Hardware of Parkville.  He then began a very successful career in the real estate business working with ReMax up until a few days before his unexpected passing.  He enjoyed traveling with Gail, exploring Baltimore history, Annapolis’s marinas and eateries, Western Maryland’s country roads, and even Old Route 66.  Ted will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

          Surviving are son, Ernest “Ted” Theodore Hill, III and wife Chrissy of Westminster; daughters, Bonnie B. Hill of Westminster; Heather J. Hill of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Hill, Jade Hill and Caitlin, Molly Knouse and husband Craig, Luke, Andrew, Eric, Brad, Jill and Jessie; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ashanti, Landon, Ella and Claire; niece, Holly Kravec; nephew, Mike Hill.

          He was predeceased by a beloved grandson, Brian A. Blank, Jr.; and by a twin brother, G. Carroll Hill.   He was also predeceased by his former spouse, Jeanette Hill Keeney in 2002.

          A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster with funeral celebrant John C. Morrill officiating.  Private burial will follow in Moreland Memorial Park in Parkville on Monday.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 9th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.  Due to Covid pandemic masks and social distancing must be practiced while in funeral home.
