H. Jay Pop Weyant, Sr.

Harold Jay “Pop” Weyant, Sr., 80, of Finksburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family, Sunday, July 11, 2021, at his home.  Born April 17, 1941, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harold Gordon Weyant and Esther Lorraine Weyant, nee Divley; he was the beloved husband of Nellie May Weyant, nee Durm, his wife of 61 years; devoted father of Esther Lorraine Ambrose and her husband Chris, the late Harold Jay Weyant, Jr., Brenda May Carr, and Daniel Eugene Weyant; loving grandfather of 8, great grandfather of 16, and great-great grandfather of 1; cherished brother of Laddy Weyant and his wife BillyLee, Sherry Hellman and her husband Charlie, and Gary Weyant; he was predeceased by his brother Robert Weyant and great granddaughter Isabella Linton. 

Mr. Weyant was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and worked at the General Motors Broening Highway assembly plant as a Line Supervisor for more than 30 years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and baseball and crabbing with his family.  He was an active member of the American Legion and the VFW.  He was a member of the Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 16 ,2021 at 11 a.m. with his pastor, The Rev. David L. Meador officiating.  Interment will be in St. John’s Leister Church Cemetery in Westminster.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in Mr. Weyant’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.  Online condolences may be offered at www.myersdurborawfh.com.
