Harry "Bud" Vallery Obituary

Harry Joseph “Bud” Vallery, Jr. died on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.  Born November 29, 1946 in Paramus, NJ, he was the son of the late Harry Joseph Vallery, Sr. and the late Gertrude (Pflugi) Vallery.  He was the devoted husband of Rosanne Linda (Gerdes) Vallery, to whom he was married for 48 years.  She passed in 2014.

Bud was a merchandiser for various retail stores.  In his earlier years, he worked as a mail carrier and milk man.  He enjoyed collecting postcards, stamps, and antiques.  He loved World War II history and movies.  Bud was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

Surviving are son, Scott Vallery (Sarah) of The Woodlands, TX; daughters, Kristen Koons (Charlie) of Morgantown, PA, and Suzanne Vallery (fiancé, John Shetter) of Waynesboro, PA; sister, Marianne Frega (Peter) of Southington, CT; sister-in-law, Shawn Vallery of Medina, OH; grandchildren, Hannah and Hope Vallery, and Benjamin, Jacob, and Rebecca Koons; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Jerry Vallery.

In keeping with Bud’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown, MD. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Rd, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL, 32256, the Humane Society of Carroll County, Inc, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD, 21158, or to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD, 21157.
