Jeffrey Lynn Simpson, Sr.

          Jeffrey L. Simpson, Sr., 69, of Taneytown, Maryland died on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

          Born August 4, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late Daniel and Alline (Towe) Simpson.  He was the loving and devoted husband of Susan L. (Gravenor) Simpson, his wife of 47 years.

          Jeff was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the time of the Vietnam War.  He was a hard working provider and family man.  He loved the Chicago Bears football team, and was an avid football fan.  He loved spending time with his 3 grandchildren.

          Surviving in addition to his wife Sue, are son, Jeffrey L. Simpson, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Taneytown; grandchildren, Ciera, Evan and Olivia; brothers, Darrell and Byron Simpson both of Indiana; and special pet dog, “Bear”.  He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Simpson.

          The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 and from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service on Tuesday, January 12th at 11 a.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.  Burial will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster.

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
