Margaret (Peg) (Myers) Briscoe

Margaret Myers (Peg) Briscoe 98, formerly of Sanibel Island, FL and Westminster, died Thursday July 23, 2020, at Shell Point Village, Fort Myers, FL.

Born March 16, 1922 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Eurath Myers.  She was the wife of 56 years to the late James F. Briscoe, who predeceased her in 1999.

She was a 1940 graduate of Samuel Ready School and attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College).  During WWII, she worked for the Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.  Afterward, she worked for Home Food Buyers Co. and then taught General Business Training at Westminster High School.  She founded Ann-Dor Kitchens as co-owner and designed and sold kitchens.  She also sold investment programs for IDS, Corp. up until retiring and moving to Florida.

She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Church of Sanibel, FL and a former member of Ascension Episcopal Church of Westminster. She was a past member of Aglow International, Westminster Soroptimist Club and Westminster Riding Club.  She loved gardening, cooking and entertaining her friends and family.

Surviving are children Susan B. Huse of Milwaukee and James Douglass Briscoe and wife Diana of Westminster, and Dr. Travis A. Meredith and wife Karen of Chapel Hill, NC; brother Donald C. Myers of Turkey, NC; grandchildren Michael, Mark and Stephen Huse, Joshua Briscoe, Holly Palmer, Stephanie Hovatter, Randy, Jeremy and Susan Meredith and twelve great grandchildren; niece Nicole Mobley and husband Julian  of Wilmington, NC.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with funeral celebrant John C. Morrill officiating.  Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Private inurnment will follow in the Westminster cemetery.
