Samuel Jackson Sauers, Jr.

Samuel Jackson Sauers, Jr., 55, of Westminster, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at his home. Born November 20, 1966, he was the son to the late Samuel Jackson Sauers, Sr. and Janet Cecelia Sauers, nee Shaffer. He was the loving husband to Judy Lynn Sauers, who share 30 years together.

He worked for Penguin Random House as a shipping clerk. He loved to go fishing, playing cards and any type of games, playing billiards, and in his spare time he enjoyed cemetery tombstone restorations. He was a generous man and was willing to help anyone and everyone who needed a helping hand.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Emily Sauers and fiancé Kent; brother Troy DeLawder, sisters, Ashley DeLawder and Brenda Toporzycki; and many nieces and nephews and friends that he loved. He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Edward Sauers who passed in 1997; and brothers, Terry Shaffer and Ronald DeLawder. 

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 NOON on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A funeral service will begin at 12 NOON at the funeral home with Reverend James Crocker officiating. A burial will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
