Susan Kreps

Susan Marie Kreps, 52, of Emmitsburg, MD, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at her home.  Born April 7, 1968 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul Leon and Marie Josephine (Kolb) Kreps.  She was the life-long partner of Edward Frank Kwarta of Emmitsburg.

Susan was a graduate of Catoctin High School, class of ’86.  She was a cook at Summit Lake Camp near Thurmont for more than 30 years.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, making candy, camping, mushroom hunting, going to the beach, and spending time with family.  She was a fan of the former Washington Redskins.

Surviving, in addition to her partner Frank, are son, Edward Frank Kwarta, Jr. (Kim Troxell) of Fairfield, PA; grandson, Christopher Lee Kwarta; siblings, Betty Riffle (David) of Thurmont, Pat Kolb of Thurmont, Cindy Faulkner (Raymond) of Emmitsburg, and Laura Faulkner of Fairfield, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, services are private for family members.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, MD.
