A long time ago, Connie came to my aid. Released from the hospital, after a six week stay, in Bloomington following a near-fatal traffic accident, I was bed-ridden and incapable of taking care of myself. Connie showed up out of the blue and lived in my apt for several weeks taking care of all the unpleasant requirements. She never asked for anything and I would have been in a world of trouble without her. She was one of the best friends I ever had. When the news finally reached me I was in shock. I still have tears in my eyes. She made the world a far better place...

I knew Connie through the Natural Resources Careers Camp. She was a beautiful person who's knowledge of the outdoors was endless. Connie was always smiling and happy and brought joy to everyone she met through our camp. We will miss her very much at NRCC!

I was a third-year MLA student, when I first met Connie, while she was the second-year MLA student. We worked hours together on her studio work and thesis. As a foreigner, I feel so lucky to be a friend with Connie, she was generous, patient and always listening and understanding. She was the only one who always welcome me and encouraged me, made me feel I was needed. I really wish I could say a goodbye to her, let her know she was my best friend in USA, and I should remember her forever!.

I knew Connie through the Forestry Boards and at NRCC where I am the Director. She was extremely dedicated to the program and enjoyed coming to Camp each year. Her amazing knowledge of plants' Latin names and uses made her a wonderful addition to Camp. Her enthusiasm in sharing her knowledge with the students was unmatched. Connie will be greatly missed. I miss her.
