I have been blessed to know Darla through our work at The Arc for over 16 years. In that time I have never seen her become impatient, angry or flustered. She gracefully balanced her busy workload with the needs of an unending stream of people who sought change, a paycheck, a band aide or a listening ear. She was an example of a Christ-like spirit who valued each person. I never saw her turn anyone away. There were many times I would hear from others of her acts of generosity and kindness toward them. I am sure God has cared for and answered prayers for many of us through Darla. I speak for many of us at the Arc when I say she has left an empty spot here that will never be filled but blessings from her friendship that will never leave us. My hope is that I will honor her memory by learning from her example. Thank you for sharing her with us.
