Sorry to hear of Jims passing. I was his roommate at Thiel College. Jim was definitely a unique individual and his spirit will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family. He would not want us to grieve but to celebrate his life.

so sorry to hear of your passing. Mr. Slingluff was an amazing teacher. Thank you for making our learning experience fun. I'll never forget your warm ups. The riddles lol made us think that's for sure. Rest in peace

My condolences to the family of Mr. Slingluff. I was a student of his. I remember one day he got so mad he threw a desk across the room. We all laughed at the time. He was a great teacher. God Bless

I was really shocked to see Mr. Slingluff's Obit. in the paper today! He was one of my teachers at FSK back in the 80's and he was the coolest teacher that I ever had!  He had so many students who just loved him and his classes were always fun and enjoyable! You are going to be so missed Mr. Slingluff!  RIP!

I knew Jim many years ago when he taught at FSK. I worked in the
front office, so when he came in to do something, we would strike up
a conversation.  I always enjoyed Jim with his dry sense of humor.
I found out about his love of the West and he learned I was brought
up in Colorado. So that gave us much to talk about and enjoy. I'm
so sorry to learn of his early death. Jim was a good person. I was
blessed to see him one more time when he returned to Key years
later to visit. I considered him to be a good friend who was very
intelligent. God bless his family at this time.

Sending my condolences to the family of Jim. Even though I have never met "Jim", I was moved by his obituary. These words, made me smile, as I thought -Wow this fellow sure lived a full life in spite of his short time on this planet! Inspiring. Thanks for sharing a bit of this adventurer's life. Much sympathy for your loss & God Bless, Jane -Beaver, PA
