Molly McCarthy Parezo, 72, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, formerly of Germantown died peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick, Maryland.
Born on February 12, 1945 in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. McCarthy, Jr. and Norma K. (Lorenz) McCarthy. She was predeceased by her husband, George T. Parezo.
Molly worked as an administrative assistant for various legal firms and medical offices during her working career. She is survived by her beloved cat “Murray Tyler”. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bridge, watching movies, traveling, and performing with the “Sweet Adelines” choral group. She always enjoyed family visits to Capon Springs.
Surviving her are sons, Robert Dolan, Jr. of Lovettsville, VA, and Patrick Dolan and wife Jeannine of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Kelly Moreland and husband Eddie of Emmitsburg, MD; step-daughter, Janice Parezo Donohue and husband John of Bath, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael Dolan, Jacob Crigger and wife Heather, Brittany, Morgan, and Tyler Moreland, Ethan and Zachary Dolan; great-grandson, Weston; step-grandchildren, Meghan, Amy, Adam, Susan, and George; and several step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael McCarthy of Springfield, VA, Patrick McCarthy and wife Edith of Gainesville, VA, and Dennis McCarthy and wife Martha of Blackstone, VA; sisters, Cathryn Whisman and husband Hal of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jean Ball and husband Donald of Sperryville, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg with the Rev. Martin McGeough, C.M. as celebrant. Private burial will follow in George Washington Cemetery in Adelphi, MD. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Emmitsburg, MD.
