Sister Maureen spent many nights caring for her aunt (my grandmother), Annie Donovan Montgomery who was bed-ridden for nine years. This was before she entered the religious order, Daughters of Charity. At that time she was living in Boston and was a nurse at the Carney Hospital. I remember many nights kneeling at my grandmother's bedside while Maureen lead us in saying the rosary. Sister Maureen was a kind and loving woman who had such spirituality. She lead by example and now is enjoying her eternal reward.

I was so saddened to hear of my Aunt Maureen's passing.

Sr. Maureen was such a delightful, warm and fun person. My father, her brother Austin, nicknamed her "Cyclone" when they were kids, and as an adult I understood why - I can see that she was indeed a force of nature. Summer family get-togethers were always even more fun once she arrived.

I especially want to express my condolences to Sr. Eileen Donahue. Sr. Maureen spoke so fondly of you, and told me how grateful she was to have you as a friend. I know you made her life richer, and your assistance must have been such a comfort to her as her difficulties increased. I know you will miss her, and I hope you know how grateful we all are for all that you have done for her.
